- The SportPesa Midweek Jackpot winner was announced on Sunday 5 January.
Leading online gaming company SportPesa has started 2025 with a bang when two lucky winners split the Midweek Jackpot of KSh 23,461,828 on January 1, 2025.
The winners, Japhet Muirungi, a transport and construction entrepreneur from Meru and Tannubody Subbareddy, an Indian wholesale entrepreneur based in Bungoma, each received KSh 11,730,914.
Muirungi, a family man with a thriving transportation and construction business, placed four separate bets on different days and had no idea that one of them would be his ticket to a life-changing win.
“I thought it was just a joke when I first got the call,” Japhet shared. “But once I confirmed it, I realized my life had just changed overnight!”

With his winnings, Japhet plans to buy a truck for his business, which will help transport building materials and gas and has already ordered the vehicle. Japhet also plans to build a house for his family, ensuring a better future for them.
Subbareddy also placed several bets that day and his intuition paid off when he scored wins on both his bets: one was a double combination bet, winning the 12/13 match and earning the bonus while the other was a perfect 13/13 win, securing his share of the Midweek Jackpot.
Tannubody had a strong feeling that he would win and even told his friends about it before the results were announced.
“I am confident I will win,” said Tannubody. “I told one of my friends, and to my surprise, I won twice on the same bet!”

Tannubody plans to use his share of the winnings to expand his wholesale business and further support his family.
The two winners not only celebrated their good fortune but also looked forward to bigger wins. Japhet is determined to keep playing in the hope of hitting the Mega Jackpot which is now worth more than KSh 397 million.
Tannubody has the same ambition, eager to claim the life-changing Mega Jackpot prize.
“I will keep playing, and one day I will win the Mega Jackpot,” said Japhet confidently. Tannubody added, “SportPesa is where dreams come true, and I won’t stop until I win bigger!”
